| Education University of Southern California, Master of Public Policy, 2011 University of Maryland, College Park - Women's Studies Orange County, CA Background I became acquainted with the field of emergency management through a research assistantship with the Mayor's Office at the City of Los Angeles, working on homeland security and public safety issues at LAX. EMD Projects I helped coordinate information for an audit of the Emergency Management Department. I am also working on preparing budget documents for the 2011/12 fiscal year. After the budget is complete, I will be working on a concept paper for the Emergency Management Department's new strategic plan. Experience at EMD My experience at EMD has been very positive. I've been able to apply project management skills I have learned in public policy school to assignments at EMD. There have been many engaging professional development and learning opportunities here. Career Goals I hope to continue to work on emergency management, law enforcement and homeland security public policy issues. |
